Goals for February

It felt a lot like spring outside today, but I'm still well and truly in the grips of the winter blues. I wasn't sure whether to bother making my goals a regular feature, but it gives me a little motivation and I think it's a good cure for days like today when I'm feeling a little under the weather.

  01. Be creative and try out more recipes - I've been eating really well for the last few weeks, and I'd really like to keep it up this month. These pumpkin and sweet potato quesadillas look great!

 02. Buy more clothes - I'll never successfully manage a 'capsule wardrobe', but I need to work on building up a selection of good quality basics instead of impluse buying in Primark.

 03. Bake more and start building up a baking collection - I love baking, but I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to puddings. A few recipe books and some new kitchen equipment and I'd be good to go!

04. Buy a new perfume - I hate splashing out on perfume, but my last bottle is about to run out and I need a replacement fast. Do you have any recommendations?

05. Celebrate Chinese New Year - Delicious food, bright colours and wonderful traditions - it's no wonder Chinese New Year is one of my favourite celebrations!

 06. Fix the reply button on my blog - Personally I don't really check back for replies to on comments I've made unless I've asked a question, but I worry that other people do and think I'm being rude. I'm not, it's just a bit of a pain as I just can't seem to get the reply feature to work with this template. Any suggestions?

07. Tame the Green Eyed Monster - I'm naturally a jealous person and though I don't feel it makes me nasty or bitter, there's no doubt that it affects my self-esteem far more than it should. I don't think I'll ever cure the problem, but this month I'll be taking small steps to feeling better about myself.

What would you like to achieve in February?

Last month I: read two books, went on a grand adventure via Google Maps, organised and decluttered my room and discovered I quite like birdwatching. They weren't my biggest success, but you can read my January goals here.

  1. Oh. My. God. Those quesadillas look AMAZING! I wish my dishes looked half as amazing as those!

I want to celebrate Chinese new year, I think I'm going to look up when it is. It's the year of the snake this year I think (it was the Dragon last year, both me and my daughter share it!)

  2. They look great, don't they? Presentation has never been my forte though!

It's really sweet that you and your daughter share the same animal - I'm really fascinated by the Chinese calendar. I'm a horse! :) xx
